Class 4 would like to thank Sally from 'Henley Chocolates Chocolaterie' for such an exciting and informative morning. The pupils learned so much about making chocolate using Fairtrade ingredients. A few chocolate samples were certainly a lovely bonus! It was a great way to support our sequence of writing this week.

MINI GREY VISITS MAPPLEBOROUGH GREEN
Mini Grey is a wonderful illustrator and
writer of children's books, especially picture books
for young children ( Biscuit Bear, Toys in Space). She won the annual Kate Greenaway Medal from the Association
Librarians, recognising the year's best-illustrated children's book
published in the UK, for The Adventures of the Dish and the
Spoon. She will be
visiting our school, to work with the children, on 6th March. At the
end of the day there will be an opportunity for the children to buy Mini’s
books and get them signed.
To celebrate Mini’s visit, we
are asking the children to dress up as characters from Mini’s books on World
Book Day which is on the 2nd March.
CROSS COUNTRY RUNNING
Come on Mappleborough! We had an amazing morning at the cross country. The turnout was superb and every single pupil gave it their all. Well done to our first timers, those who achieved a PB and to those pupils who never gave up. A special mention for our Year 5 boys; there was a fourth individual win for one very successful pupil, and our boys came first as an overall team. What a result! Finally, we owe a huge thanks to our volunteer running coaches, who have trained the pupils so well and helped them to look the part by providing a stylish new kit. Thank you!
